Spirit Body Yoga (“we”, “us”) runs the website at yogis4life.com and the Spirit Body Yoga mobile app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who else handles it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email info@yogis4life.com.
Information we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and password (stored scrambled, never in plain text). You can add a photo, a short bio and a favorite style of practice.
- Phone number and address (optional): only if you give them to us, for example for class texts or your profile. You choose whether to receive texts and can stop them at any time.
- Your activity: classes you book or cancel, classes you favorite or watch, badges and challenge progress, posts, comments, replies and messages you send in the community, groups, challenges or to the studio, and photos you share there; your reactions and likes; the members you tag with @; posts you share or repost; the groups you join and any requests you make to join a private group.
- Forms and waivers: answers to any intake form or waiver you complete. These can include health information such as injuries, pregnancy or medical conditions. Giving it is always your choice, and we use it only to teach you safely and keep a record of your waiver. When you sign a form we also record the date and time, your IP address and your browser type, as proof of signing.
- Which posts you have seen: when a post in the community feed is on your screen for a moment, we note that you saw it (once per post). The person who wrote the post and studio staff can see a list of who has seen it. Other members cannot.
- Guests: if you bring a guest to a class, we keep the name and email you give for them.
- Purchases: what you buy (membership, class credits, videos) and your subscription status. Card details are entered on Stripe’s secure payment pages. We never see or store your full card number.
- Mailing list and free offers: your name and email if you sign up for our newsletter or a free offer, and the follow-up messages we send you.
- Messages and reports you send us: anything you write through the contact form or “Report a problem”. A problem report also includes the page you were on and your device type.
- Notes from our staff: studio staff may keep notes, tags and a stage (for example “new member”) on your client record to look after you better.
- Device information for notifications: if you turn on push notifications in the app, we store a device token so we can send them to your phone.
- Email activity: in the emails we send you, we can tell whether a message was opened and which links in it were clicked. We use this to see which messages are useful.
- Technical logs: when something breaks on the site or app, an error report is sent to our error-monitoring service. It describes the fault and the page, and is set up not to include your name, email, IP address or what you typed.
How we use it
- To run your account, bookings, memberships and the on-demand library.
- To send you class confirmations, reminders, receipts and password emails.
- To send updates you opted in to: emails, texts and push notifications. You can change these in your communication preferences.
- To run the community, answer your messages and keep the space safe and respectful. That includes telling you when someone reacts to, comments on, tags or shares your post, and when the studio approves or declines your request to join a private group.
- To find and fix problems, to improve the site and app, and to protect against misuse and spam.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising. The site does not use advertising or analytics trackers.
Who helps us run the service
We share only what is needed with these providers, who handle it on our behalf:
- Stripe for payments and subscriptions.
- Bunny and Cloudflare R2 for storing and streaming our class videos.
- jsDelivr, a content network that delivers the video player to your browser (it sees your IP address when the player loads).
- Zoom for live online classes.
- IONOS for website hosting, email and our encrypted backups.
- Twilio for text messages, if you opted in.
- Google Firebase for push notifications, if you turned them on.
- Cloudflare Turnstile for spam protection on our forms.
- Sentry for error monitoring (technical fault reports only).
We may also share information if the law requires it or to protect the safety of our members.
Who can see your information
- Other members: your posts, comments and replies in the community feed and challenges are visible to other members, as are your reactions (members can open the list of who reacted to a post) and the names of people you tag. Posts and discussions inside a group are visible only to that group's members and to studio staff; everyone can see that a group exists, how many members it has, and whether it is open or private. A post you share to the feed appears under the sharer's name with your post shown inside it. Your profile appears in the member directory only if you choose that in My profile. Photos you send in a private chat are visible only to the people in that conversation and to studio staff. Your email address is never shown to other members. If you send a post to the studio, it goes into your private chat with the studio team.
- Studio staff: we give staff access only to the parts of the back office their role needs, and the back office keeps a log of changes and of who opened members’ private records.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, posts, comments, replies, reactions, likes, tags, the record of posts you saw, group memberships and join requests, photos, bookings, messages, badges, notification settings, form answers and contact messages, we remove you from our mailing list, and we delete your customer record at Stripe. We may keep limited records for as long as the law or our legitimate business needs require: payment records held by Stripe for tax purposes, and signed waivers (which keep only your name, your signature and the date, not the health answers). Our encrypted backups roll off after 14 days, so deleted information disappears from them within about two weeks.
Your choices and rights
- See and change your information: in My profile and your communication preferences.
- Download a copy of your information: open My data (or “Download my data” in the app) and enter your password. You can also email us and we will send it to you.
- Delete your account: open Delete my account (or choose “Delete account” on the Account screen in the app). Any membership is cancelled immediately. You can also email us and we will do it for you.
- Stop emails, texts or push: use the unsubscribe link in any email, reply STOP to a text, or turn them off in your preferences or your phone’s settings.
Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Union), you may have additional rights, such as correcting or restricting the use of your information. Email us and we will help.
Security
We use secure connections (HTTPS), scrambled passwords, access controls, optional two-step sign-in for staff, and encrypted backups to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe, and we will tell you if a breach affects you.
Children
Our service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for important changes, let you know by email or in the app.
